E Contudo, Elas Movem-se!

E Contudo, Elas Movem-se!

For eons there has been an astonishing high number of women that were hidden from the history books in all sorts of fields – music, art, science, medicine, philosophy, architecture, you name it. Enter She Thought It – a collaborative online database that aims to gather bios, works and any useful information on relevant women to finally make things right! So the University of Porto thought it would be great to do a whole cycle of events to let the public get to know some really talented and genius portuguese ladies a little better. To kick things off, they highlighted twelve women in the fields of science and medicine – how, you ask? By doing both an exhibition and a publication about their lives and work, combined with poems of different writers.

So, first thing's first: these are, unfortunately, not very well known and the available images aren't necessarily 4K, to put it mildly. Thus, some fancy illustration work was required to move on. What's that? You didn't know that, along with design, web development and motion graphics, we messed around with illustration? Well, allow us to put on our teaching hat, because we're about to school you on this one.
